all women stalk

I admit it.  I am beauty-skill impaired.  I can’t ever get my hair to do anything “really cute” and my make-up application is what you would call “routine.”  Enter All Women Stalk.

I found this sight through Pinterest (of course!) and fell in love!  What better resource for a girl who has 4 hairstyles and basic make-up application skills.  There are all sorts of useful tips and tricks.  Here’s screen shot of the home page:

Aside from make-up and beauty tips, there are travel tips, workout regimens (body specific and target area specific), fashion finds, DIY projects, relationship advice, gift ideas, and book lists.  You (and I) could spend hours reading through all of the articles.  So head on over and check it out.

  Be sure to pace yourself, though.  You could get sucked-in if you’re not careful!

Have fun!

have you peeqed?

I recently found a new website called sneakpeeq. It’s a shopping site that has daily features and a variety of different boutiques.  You earn credits or badges by “peeqing” at the prices of items and automatically receive a $10 discount on your first purchase by registering.  It’s a totally girly site-makeup, jewelry, clothing, specialty food items!  I haven’t purchased anything yet, but I keep checking-in to see if there’s a particularly cool item that I need.

Be sure to check it out here.  Here’s a preview of a few of the great things they’ve got

a few cool things

Have you heard about the new shops at Target?!  Every time I see the commercial I get so excited about it.  The shops opened up on May 6th, but if you haven’t hit the stores yet, here is a preview of the new selection.

{Hopefully this launch goes better than the choas that was Missoni}

The Candy Store

Cos Bar

Polka Dot Bakery

Privet House

The Webster

I found this great DIY the other day on A Subtle Revelry for mint infused honey…and you better believe it’s on my to-do list!  I bought some herb plants this weekend and I’m itching to use them!  This would be the perfect project.

It’s  easy and inexpensive!  Check out the full tutorial HERE

Hope you have fun plans for your weekend…because it’s almost here!

this and that

There’s a bunch of “this and that” going on, so I thought I”d use this post to catch you up and get your feedback.

For starters, my latest post went live on Dr. Mommy Online yesterday–check it out here.  It’s all about gallery walls!

Also, I don’t think I told you, but I won a giveaway a few weeks ago on Freckled Laundry.  It was for 100 free business cards designed by Reni at Bliss and Tell Branding Company–super awesome!

She just sent me first revisions this week and I have two options that I can’t decide between!

Option 1:

or Option 2:

I would so appreciate it if you could comment on which one is your favorite–it would definitely help make my decision easier!

On a random note, it has been unseasonably warm here.  I think it may have reached 80 today, and we even had a thunder storm.  Everything is in bloom…even flowers that usually bloom in the summer!

Is it really only February?!

My allergies have been going crazy {boo} and I can’t seem to kick it…  My chiropractor suggested a home remedy involving garlic cloves, coconut oil, and olive oil–apparently you make a paste and then put it on your feet {with socks}…hmmm not too sure about that.

Did I mention I hate pollen?.

Asa’s brother, Kade, is due in just a few short weeks.  Although all of the furniture in his nursery was pre-exisiting (from when Asa was a baby), he did get new bedding, window treatments, and some accessories.  I’ve been working with Melody to select fabrics and accessories and it’s almost ready!  Here’s a sneak preview of the room.

{more pictures coming!}

Finally, I thought I’d share this great recipe I found on Pinterest.  Every Monday night, my sisters-in-law and I get together for dessert and the Bachelor.  It was my turn to provide dessert this Monday so I made gooey cinnamon sticks:

The recipe calls for a can of pre-made pizza dough, but I bought a can of pre-cut bread-stick dough instead.  The garlic spread was in a separate container so I didn’t have to worry about garlic flavored cinnamon sticks.

Check out the recipe HERE–it’s so easy and quick!

Well…if that’s not a random post, I’m not sure what is!

Have a great weekend, friends!

things I’d like to try

I always find great ideas on Pinterest.

So I pin them.

And then I forget to try them.

Here are a few of the things I’ve found that I really want to try. {Disclaimer: Most of them are cleaning related}

Rub a freshly-cleaned faucet with wax paper to avoid future water spots.

1/3 cu. baking soda, 1 cu. white vinegar, 1 plastic bag. Mix, secure to shower head, let stand for 2-3 hrs. Water deposits and grime GONE!

Soak crusty brushes in hot vinegar for 30 min. Wash with soapy water and let dry. Good as new!

Fill a spray bottle 1/8th full with rubbing alcohol, add 1 drop of Dawn dish soap, and a couple drops of scented oil. Fill the remainder with water & shake. Makes great counter top cleaner!

Separate and hang your scarves on one hangar with shower curtain rings!

Mix one part Dawn dish soap with two parts hydrogen peroxide and some baking soda--pour on tough stains like wine, sweat, and dirt, rub in with laundry brush or toothbrush. Let stand for an hour. Stains should come right out.

Two ingredient pumpkin cake with three ingredient apple glaze!

What cool ideas have you found that you’d like to try?

If you try any of mine before I do, let me know how everything turns out…I know from experience that sometimes these types of things are genius and sometimes they’re a total bust.

Have a great weekend!
