My latest post goes live tomorrow on Dr. Mommy–it’s all about potting benches.  I don’t have one yet, but writing that post inspired me!  There may be a potting bench in my near future!  I’m think something like this, maybe.
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  We had a great weekend, all-together–got house chores done on Saturday, saw Hunger Games Saturday evening, Church on Sunday morning, and then some family time in the afternoon!  It even got a little cool here, which was so nice.
For Easter, my husband ordered me the Tocca perfumes I posted about here.  I’ve never purchased perfume without smelling it before, but they should be here soon so I’ll let you know what I think!
Happy Easter Candy Recovery Week! 🙂

color stuff

We’ve all seen the “paint preview programs” at Lowes and Home Depot that allow you to upload a personal picture of your own room and then put paint color on the walls.  Usually they don’t work and end up being more frustrating than helpful. …and I admit, it can be hard to visualize paint color in an entire room especially considering that sunlight and artificial light can play major tricks on you!  But have you ever wanted to do the opposite?  You see a picture of an already completed room in a magazine, blog, or on Pinterest and you LOVE it…you just can’t figure out what the actual paint colors are (you know…gray isn’t always just gray, it’s blue-gray or purple-gray or it has more black in it…).  This is where Sherwin Williams’ Chip It comes in.

You simply upload the image url

{and it can even be a blog home page…it’ll pull ALL of the pictures}

Select the image you want to “Chip” and get this!

Pretty cool, huh?!  I will definitely be using this!

On another color note, have you seen the Hunger Games nail polish series?!

It’s crazy that there’s actually a nail polish series for the Hunger Games but also a little genius. I love all for of the front colors!..and I’m sure everyone will be wearing glitter on their nails for a while.

Happy Friday, friends!

tools for bloggers

Aside from being a blogger, I love to read other blogs, and I’ve noticed that there are a lot of people in a similar situation right now–they’ve got blog funk.  This is surprising considering it’s Spring and Spring is usually when creative juices are really flowing, but it seems that a lot of us in blog world are just in a slump right now.

Ez over at Creature Comforts is doing a series right now on “Overcoming Bloggers Block.”  Aside from being helpful for bloggers, her tips wouldn’t be bad for even a non-blogger to try.  Check out step 1 HERE. {be sure to peruse around while you’re there–great stuff!}.

Here is one of her daily color inspirations–I love the birds!

Another great thing going on is at Harbour Breeze.  Rita is doing a 7 day series on “Selling Handmade Online”.  There will be different guest bloggers each day for the different topics which are as follows:

Day 1: “Meet the Teachers”
{4 bloggers tell their handmade business stories.}
Day 2: “Product Branding”
{graphic design and store banners}
Day 3: “Organizing a Workspace”
{when you live where you work!}
Day 4: “Presenting your Product”
{tips for photographing}
Day 5: “Wrapping up a Sale”
{packaging for shipment}
Day 6: “Promoting your Shop”
{getting the word out}
Day 7: “Balancing it all”
{multitasking in life!}
These helpful tips could definitely be a way to get {us} bloggers out of that funk.  Even if you’re not a blogger and you don’t sell anything handmade online, the guest bloggers are all great and have wonderful blogs that you might enjoy reading so be sure to stop by!
On one last random note, have any of you ever heard of Tocca perfumes?  I found this sampler on Pinterest today and was thinking of ordering it.
Anyway, happy Tuesday, friends!
