pumpkin carving

My in-laws are having their annual pumpkin party this weekend which will involve a pumpkin carving contest.  I haven’t done so well in past years so, this year, I am trying to plan ahead.  In my searching for carving ideas of my own, I’ve discovered some really great pumpkin patterns that I wanted to share!

I thought these were cute ideas, too!

{use a cookie cutter!}

{adorable!}

P.S.  My mother-in-law makes crocheted pumpkin hats like the one the baby is wearing in this picture.

Did you know that you can put silica gel beads in your carved pumpkin to keep it from rotting as quickly which will make it last longer?!

I think I’ve decided what I’m going to do, but you’ll have to wait and see the finished product!  I don’t want to give any members of the competition an advantage. 🙂

Happy Trick-or-Treat Weekend!
