my favorite dessert

It’s no secret to my friends and family that I LOVE donuts.  My absolute favorite type of donuts are Boston Cream.  For my birthday this year, my sweet husband had a dozen of them waiting for me when I woke up

{I had the day off work so I got to sleep in–it was perfect!}

And, to me, churros are just another type of donut so I LOVE those too.  Did you know that you can get them at Tijuana Flats?!  Before a friend shared that {important} bit of information with me, I thought that the only place I could get churros was at Disney.

Anyway, recently my sisters-in-law and I decided to start up a craft/baking night.  We don’t necessarily do both each week, but at least one or the other.  A bit of information that might be important to interject here is that I. Don’t. Bake.  I cook.  …additionally, regardless of whether it’s cooking or baking, I’d rather be doing a craft project or designing something than sweating-it-out in the kitchen, all-together.

So this baking/craft night could be a good thing for me…

I have to admit, Pinterest has sparked my interest in the cooking/baking category a little because 1. I can easily see pictures of the food and 2. I can quickly figure out the picture with the easiest recipe {and save it for later :) }.

All that to say, we had our first craft/baking night this week and guess what we made!

That’s right!  DONUTS!

…and they were super easy!

The recipe or “method” was one that my sister-in-law did with her mom and sisters as a kid:

I was quite impressed with how well they turned out and posted the photos (shown above) on Facebook.  My poor friends were craving donuts at 9 o’clock at night because of me!  It affected one friend so much that she wrote a blog post about it!  Check it out at Frizzle Chicks –it’s so cute!

Happy Donut Eating!

{because I know you’ll all want one now :) }

the holiday print collection!

Have you gotten your fall decor out yet?

I have to admit, I want to, but it’s just too darn hot in Florida still–it doesn’t feel like Fall {even though I want it to sooo badly!} and I can’t get in the mood for fall decorating without a little bit of a cool breeze!  So, I figured I’d start with something small–adding a new fall print!

The holidays go by so quickly and I figured that, instead of designing a new print as each new holiday season came, I’d create a collection that could be purchased at an amazing discount. So, here it is–the holiday art print collection!

{Please excuse the watermarks}

The first print is kindof a freebie since it doesn’t fit into just one holiday season but could actually work year round–the key print:

I’ve been liking keys lately so I threw this one in there.

The second is for fall–the season that’s already upon us!

Before we know it, Thanksgiving will be here and you’ll be looking for something to freshen up those pumpkins and gourds leftover from Halloween–this print is a great reminder for the Thanksgiving holiday season.

And finally, a print for my favorite holiday–Christmas!

Each print, individually is only $7.95!  Or, if you’d like to get your holiday print shopping done all at once, the holiday 4-pack is available for only $20!

All prints and packages are available in the Shop or, if you’d like to purchase your holiday pack now, click the “Add to Cart” button below.

{$20.00}

Happy Shopping!

do you see what i see?

I found this great, customizable poster from Custom Eye Chart Maker and thought I’d share. You can type whatever you want and it will automatically generate an eye chart with those letters!

This would make a great wedding or baby shower gift!  It’s super unique!

{Gardners and Bergers}

Just Click HERE and make your own.

Once it’s created, it will generate a preview.  You will then have to right click and save it to your computer.  It automatically saves as a 5.5 x 5.5 png. file which is printable.  If you’d rather it be a little larger, you can open it in Photoshop or other photo editing software and re-size it without losing much of any resolution.

…or leave as is.

Pretty cool, huh!?

Happy Friday, all!!

a new room–revealed

As promised, I have pictures of the completed room re-do.  Thankfully, my mother-in-law is a seamstress and my husband has siblings who can help with painting or else this would not have been completed as quickly as it was!

To re-cap, here are the original idea boards for it:

Here are pictures of the room

BEFORE

and now here is the room

AFTER

Yay! It was a quick and dirty project–we had a very limited budget and wanted to complete it quickly but I think it turned out great and the girls are loving their new bedroom!

 Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Welcome to our new home.

the big switch

Everyday Clever is making the big switch.  This week, the blog will be under construction as we make the move from Blogger to WordPress. I am very nervous and excited about this switch–nervous for fear of losing my followers and subscribers {not to mention blog content}, excited about the new world of amazing capabilities that the blog will have in WordPress.
Hopefully there aren’t any glitches that cause me to get lost during the process but, if all else fails and you can’t find me, be sure to check on the Everyday Clever Facebook page for updates.
Wish me luck!
