something worth reading

As is the way with most blog writers, I was a blog reader first.  I’d dabbled in blogging when it first became popular but never really had too many interesting things in my personal life to write about, so I dropped it.  Then about 2 years ago, I saw someone post a link to Little Green Notebook on Facebook and got hooked on blogs again {but for real this time}.  For a while, LGN was the only blog I read…and I LOVED it.  It sucked-up a lot of my time…until reading it led me to other blogs, and slowly I was completely emersed in blog world.

After a few months of this constant blog reading, I decided that I could write a blog {genius. right?}!…but that’s the beauty of blogs, I belive, that everyone and anyone can write them.  Now, not every blog will have 2500 followers or become a book, but there is someone out there {or a few someones} who will appreciate, relate to, and enjoy your style.

So even though, I’m a blog writer, I’m definitely still a blog reader, and I wanted to share with you tonight some of my very favorite blogs so that you can enjoy them as well.

Boots!

Last year, I caught the riding boot bug too late–it was the end of winter, most sizes were gone, and whatever was left wasn’t on a very good sale.  So this year, I’m on it early…and so are the stores.
Not only that, but it’s all over Pintrest.  I’m totally inspired!

I love these boots and I can’t wait until Fall to wear them.  If you’re looking for the perfect pair of riding boots, here are a few good deals that I found.

$44.94
$42.00
$45.50

Anyone up for some boot shopping?!

So Much To Do

Well, If you haven’t noticed, the posts have been few and far-between lately.  My to-do list just kept growing for a few weeks, there, and I couldn’t seem to catch up.  I’ve had a number of big events for work and have been saving the few hours that I have at home for my hubby.  But, luckily, the last big event for a little bit was this past Friday, so things will hopefully settle down {at work, at least}.

Even though work will {hopefully} calm down for a bit, since I’ve started working within the design realm, I just continue to add things to my to do list that I need want to do to the house.  I see an idea and think, “Oooo, I want to try that”, or “Oh, maybe I could do this…” and the list just grows and grows….

I know, for some of you parents out there, you’re finally getting your break–the kids are going back to school and the routine is back in full swing.  For others, you’re trying to cram those last few outings and events in with the kiddos before back-to-school shopping and meet-the-teacher.

So, for all of US who have things TO DO, whether it’s house projects, places to go, things to buy, or people to see, I’ve found some free printable to do lists that will help us organize our time.

T-shirt Scarf DIY

Even though the heat index is still in the upper 90s in Florida, I’ve got Fall on the brain.  I don’t know about you, but when I think of Fall, I think of scarves.
{of course, in some northern states, scarves are a reality year-round….yeah.  not. in. florida.}
This t-shirt scarf requires a level 1 crafting ability.  No sewing ability required {awesome!}.  If you can use scissors, you can make it.
Here is the finished product that you have to look forward to
image from hellohoneyno
Let’s get to work!
Supplies:
                      :: scissors
                      :: large or xl t-shirt in a solid color
Steps:
      1 :: cut hem off of bottom of t-shirt and set aside
      2 :: lay tshirt out flat on a table
      3 :: cut t-shirt into horizontal strips 1/2″-1″ wide all the way up to the
           armpit of the shirt {the thinner they are, the more you’ll get out of the
           shirt}
      4 :: after all strips are cut, take grouping of 3 or 4 and stretch them out
                                            {as shown in picture below}

     5:: re-group all strips and drape around your neck then wrap or double
          them to create the thickness you desire.
 It creates a cow-neck style so there’s no need to sew together or stitch up!
You can mix colors too–use 2 different color t-shirts and create a multi-colored scarf!  Super easy, super cute!  Mine took me 15 minutes to make and cost me nothing {since I stole a shirt from my hubby} :)
Have Fun!
